Why I Endorse and America Needs…..?
Why I am Endorsing Ted Cruz
I, like many Americans, have been watching Ted Cruz since he began making significant waves on the political ocean after being sworn in as a US Senator from Texas back in January, 2013. What most americans don’t know is that he has been making waves going back much farther than a few years ago. Nearly 20 years ago he began serving as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist and has had a strong and consistent record as a courageous conservative, as he calls himself, and has proven to be a man of integrity and honesty ever since.
But his record goes back even farther than that. There are stories that go as far back as elementary and middle school. When, it is said that he was able to recite the entire United States Constitution from memory. While in college he was named the 1992 US National Speaker of the Year and he and his debate partner David Panton were the runners-up at the 1995 World Debating Championships, finishing second only to a team from Australia.
But it is not his record, as impeccable as it is, that led me to endorse him. It is not his what he has done , though he has accomplished great things, that makes me long for him to be the next President of the United States. It is the very simple fact that he inspires me. When I first watched him announce his presidential campaign in March of this year, I remember thinking, “It has been a long time since I’ve actually been inspired by a politician.” So I am publicly endorsing Ted Cruz and while his record is outstanding, his integrity is solid, and his honesty is unmatched in today’s political climate, I am endorsing Ted Cruz because he inspires me to be the best American that I can be and gives me hope that each and every one of us can do the same.
Why America Needs Ted Cruz
Anyone who looks around our nation, for even a moment, recognizes that we are in a bad spot. Whether right or left, conservative or liberal, R or D, we all know instinctively that something isn’t right. Starting with young people, teenagers and young adults on college campuses no longer see the United States as a place to reach for the stars and chase the ever more elusive American Dream. Instead of looking ahead to the bright days and adventures that lie before them, they see mounting student debt and a terrifying uncertainty in the job market. College campuses are no longer a place where students can barter in the “marketplace of ideas.” Instead they have become a bastion of intolerance where one can only exercise their right to free speech in designated areas so as not to provoke some imagined or manufactured offense.
Ted Cruz, while often mischaracterized in the media as a divisive figure, is actually the one candidate in the republican party that may still be able to unify the voter base. Not only can he unify the base but I believe that his charismatic personality coupled with his intelligence and contagious hope he will be able to unify this nation in a way we haven’t see since Ronald Reagan in the 1980’s. Ted Cruz can inspire our young people once again to see this nation as a place where hopes and dreams can become reality.
Ted Cruz’s wide ranging appeal means, not only can he inspire our young people but his courageous conservatism is what will re-energize the working adults, the average american if you will. All across the country people have lost their jobs or have had to take pay cuts. There are people that have lost their homes or watched the value of their homes steadily ebb away in to an ocean of incertitude. Everywhere you look people are struggling more and more to put food on the table or to save a little for the proverbial rainy day. Ted’s fair tax plan is not the only answer but it is an integral part of the solution to invigorate our economy. By creating stability and confidence in the market that small, medium, and large businesses so desperately need, it will lead to significant job creation and long term economic growth.
Another significant segment of our nation is our aging baby boomer generation. Ted Cruz is also the candidate for them. Restoring our economy to its former strength will ensure that the nest eggs they’ve built will be secure for their retirement years. Not to mention the legacy they leave behind them will be safe for their children and grandchildren. It will no longer be in danger of confiscation at an unfair rate from the IRS. They will once again be able to be proud of their place in our society and no longer have to worry about what they will leave behind for future generations.
Last week I spoke to an older gentleman who said that Ronald Reagan ruined the republican party for us because ever since we’ve been looking for the next Reagan. I believe that if Ted Cruz gets the nomination of the Republican party in 2016 and is elected as our next president we will one day say of him, “What we need is another Ted Cruz!”http://bradschmidt.net/why-i-endorse-and-america-needs/Uncategorized
